Let Knowledge Serve The City

Art direction and design for a celebration of Portland State

Let Knowledge Serve The City is an hour-long “Day of Giving” broadcast to inspire hope and excitement around downtown Portland. Portland State in partnership with KOIN News would feature different stories and causes focused on PSU and downtown. I was responsible for crafting a cohesive visual identity for the event, designing a flexible system adaptable to formats like print, digital ads, and on-screen graphics. I developed a hand-drawn style featuring iconic landmarks of PSU and the city, ensuring familiarity for alumni and students while feeling fresh to newcomers.

For year two, we zhuzhed up the icons with more city vibes—think less rustic, more urban glow-up. We also ditched the texture to make everything feel brighter and snappier, reflecting a revitalized downtown Portland.
