Queer for Beer

Combining everything I learned in art school

Queer for Beer was my senior thesis for design school — a multidisciplinary project that brought together my interests in branding, photography, UX design, and community building. The concept started with a simple problem: Portland’s beer scene, while expansive, lacks visible queer perspectives. As someone who’s more cocktail than craft brew, I saw an opportunity to create something that spoke to people like me — and my friends — who hadn’t always felt seen in those spaces.

The solution? A branded brew tour celebrating queer workers and voices in Portland’s brewery scene. I designed the identity, photographed the experience, helped produce interviews with queer employees, and even hosted a community meetup at our favorite brewery from the tour. Part podcast, part brand, part event — and all parts awesome — Queer for Beer is a love letter to queer community, design, and making space where it didn’t quite exist before.
